Wellness and Exercise Promotion BS

A major in wellness and exercise promotion consists of an interdisciplinary program of study in which students will implement health assessments and wellness programs during internships. The degree endeavors to promote scholarly inquiry and cultivate professionals capable of assisting others in developing self-responsibility for their own health and wellness through healthy, active lifestyles. Completion of this degree prepares students for employment in corporate, clinical, or community wellness settings or for the pursuit of graduate study.

Additional Graduation Requirement:

All students must provide a current certificate of completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.

Graduate Study Option

A bachelor's degree is conferred after the student earns a minimum of 124 credit hours. Students may also complete the BS in wellness and exercise promotion by completing the curriculum with the understanding that the 124 hour rule can be completed with graduate-level classes (not to exceed 32 credit hours). These students are required to meet all admissions criteria and degree requirements before entering or earning the master of athletic training degree. The graduate-level degree does not need to be earned prior to the bachelor's degree conferral.
