K-12 Reading Endorsement
Endorsement Requirements
The K-12 reading endorsement includes:
| EDUC 219 | Phonics and Foundations of Literacy | 3 |
| EDUC 325 | Emergent Literacy: Learning to Read | 3 |
| EDUC 326 | Literacy with Special Needs Populations | 3 |
| EDUC 415 | Content Reading: Reading to Learn | 3 |
| EDUC 423 | Assessment and Diagnosis of Reading Difficulties | 3 |
In addition, the K-12 reading endorsement requires students to take EDFI 535, EDFI 543, EDFI 650, EDFI 655, and EDFI 665, during which they must do 100 hours of field experience with licensed reading teachers across three grade bands K-12 (primary, intermediate, junior high/high school).
