DMSA 415 Physics and Instrumentation
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of ultrasound physics and instrumentation. Topics include sound wave propagation, acoustic parameters, attenuation, reflection, refraction, Doppler effect, hemodynamics, and transducer technology. Students will explore the interaction of ultrasound with different tissue types, image formation, resolution, and artifacts. Additionally, the course covers the principles of bioeffects, safety, and quality assurance. Emphasis is placed on applying physical principles to optimize image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
