DMSA 410 Language of Sonography
This course introduces the fundamental principles of medical terminology as applied to sonographic procedures and patient care. Students will develop proficiency in understanding and using medical terminology related to anatomy, pathology, and diagnostic imaging. The course also covers the basics of medical records, documentation, and healthcare communication, including electronic health records (EHR) and legal considerations. Emphasis is placed on correlating patient history, clinical indications, and laboratory values with sonographic examination criteria to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Through case studies and real-world scenarios, students will learn to apply critical thinking skills in integrating patient data with imaging protocols.
