Gerontology Minor

Minor Requirements

A minor in gerontology consists of a minimum of 18 semester hours, including:

GERN 200	The Aging Process	3
GERN 241	The Psychology of Aging	3
GERN 242	The Sociology of Aging	3
GERN 425	Gerontology Ethics	3

The student must also select two of the following courses:

BIOL 322	Human Anatomy & Physiology I	3
BIOL 322L	Human Anatomy & Physiology/Lab	1
BIOL 323	Human Anatomy & Physiology II	3
BIOL 323L	Human Anatomy & Physiology II/Lab	1
GERN 210	Gender and Aging	3
GERN 400	Internship	3
GERN 450	Senior Seminar: Selected Topics	3
HEPR 205	Human Nutrition	3
PSYC 208	Lifespan Development	3
PSYC 309	Health Psychology	3
SOCI 230	Sociology of the Family	3
SOCI 250	Human Diversity in America	3
GEND 350	Topics in Gender Studies	2 to 4
SOWK 101	Introduction to Social Work	3

Students wishing to use BIOL 322 or BIOL 323 to satisfy either of the two electives must also complete the respective labs for these courses: BIOL 322L and BIOL 323L.
