BLMC 540 Application of Discourse Analysis to Second Language Teaching

This course employs insights from discourse analysis to the teaching of such key skill areas as phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Students will be required to analyze current ESL textbooks for applications of discourse ideas as well as record and analyze real conversations. Lesson plans, which reflect the application of discourse ideas to second language teaching, are required.
