EDUC 325 Emergent Literacy: Learning to Read

This course builds background knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice in literacy programs for young children (age three to grade 3). Students will explore a continuum of typical literacy development across these ages/grades and determine how to differentiate instruction to meet individual learner needs. A variety of instructional and assessment strategies will be presented. This course covers the relevant state and federal mandates related to literacy.
