DMSA 415 Physics and Instrumentation
Discusses the fundamental principles of ultrasound physics along with the design and operation of the ultrasound equipment. Topics include wave characteristics, artifacts, propagation, acoustic variables, the Doppler effect, color flow mapping, hemodynamics, volume rendering, biological effects, and review of mathematical skills. Students will be expected to sit for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (Physics) Examination prior to the end of the course.
