BIOL 420 Advanced Techniques in Cellular and Molecular Biology

This course provides an in-depth exploration of modern cellular and molecular biology techniques essential for research and biotechnology applications. The course covers fundamental and applied methodologies including recombinant DNA technology, cell culture, SDS-PAGE, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), next-generation sequencing, CRISPR gene editing, protein expression and purification, cell culture techniques, and bioinformatics. By the end of this course, students will have the technical proficiency and conceptual understanding required for employment in biotechnology-related fields and be well-prepared for the Biotechnology Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE). This course will be graded S/U.
